She's growing up....
....too fast! Guess what she did tonight for the first time? ROLLED OVER! I had her on her tummy (for "tummy time") and she kept pushing up on her little foot and finally she got enough momentum to roll over onto her back. I can't believe it! Before we know it she'll be crawling and getting into everything; we're gonna have to keep eagle eyes on her then!!
Today her Auntie Steph came to spend time with her and we had such a fun day. Steph's co-worker, John, was in the area so he stopped by and we all went out for lunch. John is not quite 40 years old yet and he's a GRANDPA already! How trippy is that?! His granddaughter is just a couple weeks older than Lissy and I hear she's a real cutie. Anyway...then we came back and Lissy showed Auntie Steph how good she is at batting at the dangly toys on her floor gym. She was battin' and babblin' and cooin' and squeakin' and being just impossibly adorable, as usual! And that must've worn her right out cuz after that she laid by Auntie Steph and fell fast asleep for a couple hours while I made sugar cookies. ; )
And tomorrow, her grandma and grandpa are coming to see her and she always LOVES hanging out with them! And Friday we leave for our Christmas trip to Green Bay to spend time with her other G&G, aunts, uncles and cousins. I'm still pretty nervous about how our first trip with her will go, but we'll just take things moment by moment and she is SUCH an amazingly good baby that I'm sure she'll do fine. We're gonna set up her portable crib in the room that I'll be sleeping in, so it'll be nice to have her in there with me - I'm actually really looking forward to that!
I am sooooo thrilled to have this precious little sweetheart with us this Christmas!!! This time of the year has always been my favorite, but now it's just SO much more special and meaningful and HAPPY because we have our baby girl with us!!
