Touching Thumbs

Lissy and I have this thing where we "touch thumbs". Sounds corny, I know. But a lot of times when she's eating, I stick out my thumb and she grabs it real tight and our thumbs are touching...and hers looks exactly like mine, only miniature. And it's just really sweet. I love it when she grabs my thumb so tight while I'm feeding her!

...It's the day before Thanksgiving. She's sleeping in her carseat right now and will probably wake up any minute wanting to eat. But I thought that while she's still snoozing, I'd write a little bit in my blog.

We just picked up our Thanksgiving meal from Boston Market. Tomorrow will seem kinda weird cuz it'll just be the three of us, but this year we have a healthy, beautiful daughter and nothing can compare to how thankful I am for her. So this will be a very special and meaningful Thanksgiving, indeed. And to think that one year ago, we had just officially decided that we would try for a baby. Whodathunk that we'd already have a two-month old a year from then?! Blows my mind! (By the way, she is exactly two months old today!)

Sometimes at night after I put Alyssa to bed and then I go to bed, I miss her so bad. Last night I was tempted to go get her and bring her into my bed to cuddle! But I didn't cuz she was sleeping so nicely in her crib. A lot of times when I first put her into her crib at night, she babbles and coos all contended-like for awhile before she falls asleep. It is so precious and I LOVE listening to it over the baby monitor!

I cannot BELIEVE how much she's been smiling lately! And at this stage (from what I read), these are not gas smiles - they are "social smiles". Ya know, REAL smiles! She even giggles a little already! She is a very happy baby and that makes for a very, very happy mommy and daddy! She has SUCH a SWEET demeanor about her. Ya know how they say "Sugar and spice and everything nice - that's what little girls are made of"? I think of that all the time cuz it epitomizes her perfectly. She just exudes sweetness. I do not know what I did to deserve such an unbelievably awesome baby, but I thank God for her several times a day.

And nursing! She is such a great nurser. She was from the very first time I fed her in the hospital! That is something to be thankful for, too, as I know some mommies have a rough time with that for various reasons.

She really, truly DOES say "Hi"! She said it for the first time at four weeks old, and when we prompt her to say it by saying it repeatedly to her, she says it. Sometimes she really shows off and says it four or five times in a row. I'm so serious. I'm sure she doesn't know what she's saying, but she does mimic us and says it clear as a bell. It's absolutely amazing.

Well I better go feed her now. Maybe we'll touch thumbs.

A million-dollar smile!

...I have SO much I wanna say about this little girl who makes my world go 'round! It's just hard to find the time to sit and write. I will soon, tho. I have to - I really have SO much to say!!
In the meantime, look at this priceless smile! (Doesn't she look like a little boy in this picture? Lol!)

Pretty Girl

Had to take a picture of her "little bunnies go hippity hop" outfit that she wore on Wednesday. 'Course, she had it on for about three minutes before it was covered in spit-up, but at least I got a picture first! ; )
